Ride 090916

Having not been out on my AJP for over four weeks, I jumped at the offer from Gid to go out for an hour or so on an overcast but dry Friday evening!

As I have no dedicated GPS I again utilised my old Nexus4 mobile phone with ViewRanger app to follow an old route from earlier in the year.

Starting out from Camborne we headed towards Barripper and did a small lane near the cattery. We then headed to Praze-An-Beeble and did a couple of easy lanes round there.

From there it was a short hop to Clowance Estate where I struggled with a new gate (the gate didn't sit right on the hinges so was a pain to close after we'd ridden thru). We then rode through the usual field, but for the first time it was full of cows. Some weren't happy to have two motorbikes ripping past them however!

After exiting Clowance in one piece, we headed to Leedstown and did the usual lanes around there, including being chased by an enthusiastic dog!

My route took us to Hayle, but I need to edit that part out, as I remembered from last time that the 'Byway' up there isn't there anymore. So we aborted that and headed on up to Connor Downs and into Gwithian.

I ended up at what I thought was another dead end, as I remembered it from when I rode the route solo a little while ago. However, Gid encouraged me to try a parallel road and he was right... it was a good long, fast, gravelly trail. I missed that last time so glad we rode it tonight.

That was a good ending to the ride, as that was the end of the route and it also started to get dark and to rain.

The ride was mostly recorded using the CTRF club GoPro so a video will be edited and posted over the weekend.

It was so good to get out on the bike again!!!!

Cheers!

Andy

I know what you mean Andy. I went to Devon the other day which was the first time on the bike for over 4 months due to injury. Knee is still not great but it was good to be back on the bike
