Thurs 18th meeting - fancy something different ?

Anyone fancy having a little evening bimble with a stop for a pint/ yap en route somewhere?

I'm otherwise engaged on 18th - Cornish exam - but it's a great idea.

Right - I feel a rant coming on !
I posted this little poll up 4 days ago and 23 members have viewed this and one ( plus me) have bothered to vote .
I am trying to get the club riding as much as I can with the time I have available to me .

I am totally up for suggestions for doing things differently but the way it stands at the Mo it feels like one of two things

a) im not doing enough to push the club forward and maybe the chair is best taken over by someone that has more time available to them .

b) the few members we have on here are either going on clicky rides all the time or not riding at all . Either way ive had enough of using up my free time to try and organise rides etc when the take up is so low and everyone seems so dis-interested .

So - basically im gonna step down as chairman and let someone else take a shot at it ( you will need a Tazer and an adrenaline shot I reckon )

I will be at the Meeting next thurs ( either at the Hawkins Arms as usual or as part of a ride , depending on the vote result) and we can sort it all out over a pint.

I will continue to be a TRF member as I believe its money well spent for the legal support it can provide if we need it but I just want to ride when my free time allows and this club just isnt showing any enthusiam at the moment . I realise that its up to the chairman to organise things but when you are faced with such a lack of response its hard to muster up .

Fair one Phil, you have done a cracking job. I just don't get time to ride at the moment and am temporarily without bike. Life is full of cliques, I am sure here is no different.

I just think you're not trying hard enough phil, you shouldn't have taken the role if you weren't prepared to put the effort in! biggrin

Come and see me in the morning and I'll give you some there there's x

I understand Phill's frustration. I for one am grateful for what he's done for us. With a small group, it's difficult to keep people happy, most people just want to ride without putting anything back - with a few notable exceptions. I think we need to hear from the 80% of members who don't come to meetings. What do people want, and what can be expected from those members? Once again, thanks Phill.

It has always been the same Phil, the group has always had trouble getting people to ride out often enough.
Hopefully I will be able to make the meeting this week(first time for a long while).

Right - im going to say we will have the meeting at the usual place ( Hawkins arms , Zelah at 8pm ) as I was one of the ride voters , weathers pants and I have things to hand back to the club .
Have a think about who you would like to be the new chair person or if you would like to step up yourself .

Will be good to see you Frosty as well as any other lurking members that may fancy a pint and a yap .

Lets not die the CTRF die away - its a great local club with national backing and we have some awesome lanes on our doorsteps that need riding . Dont leave it all to a couple of people to do everything . Its all of our club and it will be what we make it .

See you all on Thursday
