Testing out the new action camera

So I bought a new helmet camera before Xmas, but haven't been out on the bike since then. Yesterday I decided to head out for an hour or so. biggrin

The weather was alright, it had been raining in West Cornwall overnight, and the morning was still drizzly.

The trip didn't start well, when the battery was dead on the bike. After jump starting it, I did the usual pre-ride checks then headed to the petrol station for fuel.

Tesco Camborne petrol station is closed for refurbishment it would seem, so a small detour to Morrisons in Pool was needed. Then it was back to Barripter for my first green lane since last year.

A tentative ride down the lane was followed by a slightly more spirited second lane. Feeling excited for the forthcoming route I looked down to my handlebar mounted GPS (ok, mobile phone in a case) to find an empty space where previously it had been mounted. It would appear that it had fallen off so the search began.  confuse

After about ten minutes off sloooooow (deliberately for a change!) riding I found the device sticking out from a medium sized puddle on the first lane. There was muddy water inside the case but luckily the phone still turned on. I dried it off as best I could using a towel from my backpack and put it in my bag as the mount had broken so could not be used for the rest of the day.

The remainder of the route was ridden from memory, so it's lucky that I have done this route many times over the last year. Praze-an-Beeble, Clowance Estate, Leedstown, Fraddam, Angarrack and back to Camborne through Connor Downs. Not a long route but I think 99% of the lanes usually ridden were remembered!

Sadly, it turns out that the new action camera hadn't actually turned on properly at the start of the ride. I pressed the on/off button at the cafe stop towards the end, and again when heading back out, and it turns out the only footage it recorded was from the cafe stop onwards. So I may have an issue with the new camera disbelief

So no lanes to show you in a video, but I did get some good footage of the jetwash at the end of the ride. Hope you enjoy the video!!

Ha ha Andy  I took my new pro out for its maiden voyage on my jump bike on boxing day... It pissed with rain the hole way

But at the end of a uneventful ride the handlebars snapped.  so im thinking of the 250 pounds that the baldy bloke off the telly is going to be sending me as I put the tiny little sd card in the hole in my tablet but somethings wrong it's difficult to get it out at the best of times but this time it's gone!!!!?? I then had the idea of using a pointy steak knife to try and fish the bugger back out. Really from that moment on things went down hill fast I decided to go in deeper and then smoke started coming out of the tablet point of no return, I ripped it open and interrogated its innerds,, and there was my sd card... Cracked in half.. Sodding tiny stupid bloody technology... Bought a new tablet but can't be arsed with the micro sd and the gopro yet it's left emotional scars that haven't healed yet...
