Beware of thieves

Hi all, after a long time off i thought I would rebuild the bike. Unfortunately things are changing down here the scum are coming down. my door was smashed in and they nicked the bike (KTM 400). don't think I will see it again so bear this in mind and look after yours. Terry.

Somewhere are some photo's and vids but I don't think it will do any good I've even checked parts on the bay, gumtree etc as I would reconise some parts. It was the rfs engine white trim gold bars and wheels. I had my money's worth out of it on the lanes with the memories. Cheers

Well the bike was recovered in the end and a bit worse off than it went, had to buy it back from the police, 'that sucks'. Never mind my boy has put it back on the road and is wanting to try some lanes, looks a bit quiet though, do you still go out?

Great to hear  you got it back but a bummer that plod want a recovery fee. evileye

Did they catch/know the scum that caused your grief? confuse

Don't think your insurance will help much either - hindsight is a sobering thing - IF ONLY  hmm

na they didn't catch em, they dumped it in the street when they had finished with it. The old bill won't tell you it's condition untill they have been paid, I was wondering who really robbed me. As it happened it was worth getting back. Insurance companys are jokes if you claim you get something of what it is worth and then give it back to them tripple over the next few years. We didn't bother with that (Cheaper).

Yep its a wicked world we live in where every which way you turn you have to pay out, insurance, recovery etc.... what a joke about the police with the recovery, why don't they just tell you where the bike is so you can recover it yourself confuse

Mate had a car pinched by local yobs on a joy ride, he had to pay plod for the recovery, wasn't worth it in the end no

The system is bollocks! cheaper not to have insurance.

Good to see some people posting back on here, great stuff!

How are you doing Martin?

Cheers me

I'm doing OK thanks Wacky - had better days though - I feel great when the sun's showing and wind isn't so cold!

Thieving seems to be a pastime all over the country but here in Budleigh it's not too bad - the old buggers can't run quickly enough to get away and forget what they're running for. biggrinbiggrin

How's Pops getting on, cleaned any lanes recently? There's loads of twigs and boughs on Park Lane (White Bridge to Otterton) but not blocking.

I see some of the Cornish guys are starting to use the Devon Forum in desperation.

Glad your surviving Martyn, keep battling on mate

Yeah Pops is doing okay thanks, the older he gets the more candles we have to buy for his cake biggrin

Taken last winter when we were re vamping a Bridleway

He laughs cos I always take a photo when he's sat down biggrin
