Wacky, I'm guessing you frequency but reading the board stats show that we're both not too prolific on this board.

screen shot.jpg

This screen shot shows that you've got a total of twenty five posts whereas mine are 30 and we are both newish members 2009 and 2010.

I look on Devon site quite a few times in the day and on Cornwall's a few less. I used to lo at Somerset's too until it was taken off line to public.

I guess I'll now be considered a looking lurker, or such.

Obviously they're all eating pasties rather than messing with computers - either that or they're riding their land a lot before it sinks or gets cast away. biggrin

It's in danger of being annexed by Devon, that should get some response

Funny I was talking to a member yesterday, they only have sporadic internet at 2mbs in a not that rural part of Cornwall/Devon border and they don't waste its precious time on forums. There is also the fact of less lanes, people and overlap with Devon to the east with east Cornwall that I think conspires against a successful forum. Forums need momentum that can only be generated by content on a regular basis.

But then again it might all be happening in the real world just like it did before the internet.

I'm with you all the way there Wacky.

It would be a darned shame for any Forum to sink due to lack of use. It happened to a Tiger Cub site I was on.

Why should a popular passtime of Trail Riding in a beautiful county like Cornwall have to suffer the same fate?

Here's hoping for more discussion and input.

Martyn

We need to generate some discussion mate, come on you must have loads of stories up your sleeve biggrin

Don't mind a bit of vintage if we must or we could have some rocking horse machines from the 70's Rob has a barn full, must be some stories of retro Rob's collection

What about some stories wink

Wacky,

Perhaps they're all out riding their trails, getting damper by the minute in all this persistent drizzle. bleh

I reckon your wake up call should be Wacky, Wacky    instead of Wakey Wakey biggrin

Hi guys,

I was gobsmacked when I logged on & saw a new post! Not only that but some replies as well biggrin

As you have seen, and commented, the CTRF is VERY quiet. I can't speak for anybody else, but I have barely been out laning in the last 12 months or so. If I have gone out it's only been a quick blast round local lanes. I can't remember the last time a proper rideout was arranged hmm

The monthly meetings appear to have died as well. Last one I attended was only 2 of us there!

In reality the club needs new blood, or someone willing to stand up and lead it. I believe Cornwall historically has peaks & troughs of involvement, not just CTRF but other clubs in the region as well.

So here's a call to action... is there anyone that is willing and able to take on leading the club into this new year? 2019 is still young and there is plenty of time to organise some rides, meetups, anything really!

I'll try to get to the next meeting (Thurs 12st Jan). I know the position of Chairman is currently vacant and perhaps that's the most important position that needs filling... anyone interested?? aww

As web / forum / facebook person, I am always willing to (and indeed do) respond to messages, emails etc. I am also happy to post up photos / videos / trail riding reports if needed. Just send content to me!

Hope to hear from you all soon smile

I'm not Wackyracer no  but I do know how to get the screen shot.

At the head of your screen there is a green band that has Main Page - List All Users - Search - User Details - Calendar - Recent Posts - written accross it.

Click on the option List All Users, then scrol down the page for the list of users.

This lisy can be sorted as you want, by Name, Number of Posts, Date pf Posts, etc.

When ready to copy the screen hit the keyboard key "PrtSc" and it will copy your screen to the clipboard.

Open your picture programme, make a new picture and put the clipboard to it.

Easy - screen shot.jpg- Peasy.

Andy!

Thank god you looked in man!!

Thanks for all you do in Cornwall TRF..

I did ask you some or one question on your FB page when you were closing it, about why?? if you remember mate, so sad cry

Great to see you still in the operating chair of Cornwall, can you keep that going until new blood arrives? Please

There are still people looking in on this forum so don't give up just yet (as I'm sure you won't) how about a on line meeting if you don't go to the pub or take a lap top to the pub biggrin

meeting is on the 12th Feb then as January has past wink, on line meet on the 13 Feb just to inform us how busy it was and what you managed to discuss to yourself biggrin (Sorry bad joke from me)

There's a few in West Devon who cross the boarder into Cornwall for rides, its possible to meet up or its possible to arrange a ride if your going out for a jolly at some point

Can you keep the forum ticking over? at least that provides a point of contact for someone, especially me + Martyn wink

Speak to you later on tonight

Cheers Ian

Hi Ian,

I haven't closed the Facebook Page just the Group. The Group is basically a Facebook version of this forum and it was barely used (even less than this forum is!) The Facebook page is still available for sharing photos & comments, and of course this forum is for interaction and chat smile

I wouldn't say I was in the "operating chair" to be honest, I am just the one that emails etc come through to wink  I am looking forward to the day that I have someone to pass those emails onto who may have better information than I can give...

Cheers for your comments, hope you enjoy riding in this snow! biggrin

Oh sorry I thought the page on FB had closed, my mistake Andy

Anything that can be relayed out through to people via your input is good wether through email or this forum smile

Hold on to your post for as long as you can as I'm sure someone will be along to relieve you shortly wink

Thanks again for everything, great to talk to ya, cheers Ian

Hi guys,
I've been off the scene for quite a while, from Hayle and was riding a 400 ktm, I can't remember when I last rode but it was with Phil (Twosmokes) but had to stop due to a medical issue, had a catheter ablation November 2015 which was successful and I've now got the all clear... was experiencing heart palpitations on a day to day basis which was really annoying and debilitating.
Anyway all ok now so I went out and bought a 15 plate husky te250 the other week and started out on some trails with a couple of mates, one being legal and two that are not, bit naughty but 90% of where we were was a private enduro track on a farm. I thought I would pop back on the forum to say hi and see how it's going.... bit shocked to be honest, my legal m8 was thinking of joining, and with myself, getting back into it but it looks a bit dead on here ???

Welcome back, Rusty.

You sound to have had a bit of troubled health in the past, I bet you're glad to be back on two wheels. smile

It's a pity the crowd's disappeared over the horizon but there are a few that drop by and say hi.

Unfortunately I'm no help here in Devon and besides my riding is permanently finished. My steed is now a mobility scooter!

I hope the pasty munchers rally round for your new lease of life - if not you may have to travel to Devon for a bit of action. hmm

Good luck Andy.

Martyn

Hi Martyn,
Thanks for the message.... Yeah I had a awful time of it to be honest but I've bounced back and been out a few times with my mate Dave, my son and his mate Josh. Myself and Dave have a hell of a job keeping up with the other two but they are only 22 yrs old and Jesus can they ride !! Josh was being looked at by st.blazey mx for enduro championships, he pissed all over their team rider and was winning every event, it took a nice young lady and a new born son to put paid to his dreams lol, I'm sure he will be back and my son racing along side him, we have a good laugh to be fair. Sorry to hear you are permanently retired from bikes, I've never ridden up in Devon but wouldn't mind a trip up there at some point, we got 2 vans between us all and there's more of us, about 7 riders but some are not legal, hence we ride on a mates farmland. There's a open enduro practice day coming up near paignton I think next month and the lads are keen to go and have a blast as its open to all, should be fun. I think I shall pop in on here now and again to see if things have picked up but it is looking rather bleak which is a shame really. Well here's wishing you all the very best and hope all is well where you are Martyn.

Rusty.
