Thanks to all who put up with my first attempt at leading.
Vans in convoy to Lee Mill then bit of a slow start first lane has a river at the bottom but it was way deeper than I expected so we had a detour. To the route start. Devil's steps were dry for a change but sill challenging. Loads of brambles. Nice to see a dtrf sign saying that the club had repaired one of the lanes we rode. Massive ride just shy of 140 miles. Every one of us were a bit glad to be back at the vans. Lee Mill to southbrent, to Buckfastleigh, to Newton Abbot, to Sheldon, to Totnes, then a short but horrible bit of road work for the last few miles back to the vans.
If I can make time I will have another go next month, work and family permitting,
fantastic day on the lanes everyone although a bit knackered realy enjoyed it, perfectly led by sam who guided us at a good pace along some of devons finest lanes, no dramas or breakdowns
so bring on take 2 mate whenever your ready
thanks again
Well done for getting a groop together John thanks for the support m8.. Can't imagine your sales pitch.. Lads let's follow a 50 year old hippy on a 20 year old bike in a home made coat this Sunday... And they did.. Lols.. So glad it worked out.
I have not logged on for ages but amazed there are still a few riding. 140 miles sounds like a helluva ride mind. I see compo is still tagging along behind. Probably done 10000 miles on the lanes and not led one of them . Good to see a few on the lanes though
